Epithalon 50mg Reconstitution and Research Protocol
Step-by-step protocol for reconstituting epithalon 50mg vials for research applications, including concentration calculations and storage guidance.
Epithalon Research Reconstitution Protocol
Epithalon (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, MW ~432.4 Da) is supplied as a white lyophilized powder. Its small tetrapeptide structure makes it highly stable and relatively easy to reconstitute compared to larger peptides.
Materials
- Epithalon 50mg lyophilized vial
- Bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol)
- Sterile insulin syringe (28–31 gauge)
- Alcohol swabs
- Amber vial or light-protective storage container
Concentration Options for 50mg Vial
| BAC Water Added | Concentration | Per 0.1mL |
| 5 mL | 10 mg/mL | 1.0 mg |
| 10 mL | 5 mg/mL | 0.5 mg |
| 25 mL | 2 mg/mL | 0.2 mg |
| 50 mL | 1 mg/mL | 0.1 mg |
The 5mg/mL concentration (10mL BAC water) is commonly used in research settings for convenient dosing calculations.

Reconstitution Steps
Step 1: Prepare Workspace
Wipe all surfaces. Use gloves. Allow vial to equilibrate to room temperature (15–20 min from refrigerator).Step 2: Inspect Lyophilized Peptide
Epithalon lyophilized cake should be white, uniform, and fluffy. Any yellow discoloration or condensation inside the sealed vial suggests improper storage.Step 3: Add Bacteriostatic Water
- Wipe vial stopper with 70% alcohol swab
- Draw calculated BAC water volume into syringe
- Insert needle bevel-up at 45°
- Slowly inject down glass wall — do not jet directly onto peptide cake
- Remove syringe
Step 4: Dissolve
Epithalon dissolves quickly (30–60 seconds) due to its small MW. Gently swirl. Do not vortex. Solution should be clear and colorless.Storage After Reconstitution
- Refrigerator (2–8°C): Stable approximately 6–8 weeks in BAC water
- Freezer (−20°C): Suitable for lyophilized form only; avoid freeze-thaw cycles with reconstituted peptide
- Protect from UV light; use amber vials or foil wrapping
Stability Notes
Epithalon's tetrapeptide structure is notably stable:
- pH stability: 4–8 range
- Thermal stability: Lyophilized form stable at room temperature short-term
- Reconstituted: More sensitive — maintain cold chain
